POST 7 (week 9) Your bucket list

As someone who prefeers to be alive in any cirumstances, I have spent time thinking in wich things I wanna do before die. years ago I did a list with 100 things to do. It degraded with the days but I can remember many of the things I wrote on it. Some of them are really ambitious others really sober. But Im sure I want to do all of them:

-Record a cumbia single
-Visit all regions of the country
-Meet Sylvester Stallone
-Film a full-time movie
-Learn to play theremin
-Learn to play music with glasses
-Learn to meditate
-Act as an extra in any tv show
-Eat pineapple pizza all alone
-Go to space
-End my career

I didn't put all of my tasks, but those are a few of all I can remember. Some of them are specially hard to do, like going to space. A bunch are in procces, like visit all regions.  And others are pretty easy, like eat pineapple pizza all alone. It is just go buy it and eat it.

In others tasks I've already achieved I have

- Learn any martial art
- Visit ''Quebrada de Macul''
-
Im very shy about all of this so I don't share about those goals. but if somebody asks I have no problem to tell about it.

POST 6 (week 8) Postgraduate studies

I'm not sure if I want to do a course of postgraduate. At this point I'm mostly tired of academy. I want to start doing actual things more than investigation. I'm more interested in doing my own projects and trying to make my own road. But in the hipotetical case where I have to choose between postgraduate options, I think I'd choose something about programation or interactive media. Like interactive or VR films, because I think there is the new forms to do art and more enveloping and inclusive new  experiences.

Today technology is pretty rustic in that area, but I am pretty convinced that we just have to give it a little push and then it will grow like any other expresive form (or get some millionaire's attention to invest in the area). I don't know if exists courses here in Chile, maybe Victor Fajnzylber is doing some courses. However, if there is in this country i'd totally choose doing it here.

How i would do it? well, i know me, and to me is really hard to be constant and methodical so distantce learning wouldn't work with me, and i'd really hate if it had to be full time. so I probably choose part-time so I can work in any other area to fund my projects

POST 5 (week 7) My future job

At this moment I am living in time of insecurity of what is going to be about me after I get my degree in university. I'm feeling that dedicate most of my life to filmmaking isn't what I really want, and because of that I am starting to consider other options.

I see myself recording marriages, christenings, firsts days of school. And I like the idea, because I would really enjoy the relative calm of that kind of work. Sure I would be constantly outdoor and I'd never have certainty  of a salary, two things that doesn't let me sleep in the night.

On the other side, maybe I would take another available job to gather money, lick some boots in CORFO and start my own business in electronics. It would have a lot indoor work, thing that I like, but there is also no estability about salary, so insecurities keeps in mind.

I can't see others solutions. Perhaps making videoclips for emerging bands, but as in the other cases, that don't guarantee anything to me, and is even more risky. What I have left, at least to make the degree count, being youtuber? oh please no.

Probably this mood is common in people of my generation and age, but for the reasons I explained, I don't feel in the position to say where Im going to be in the next 5 years.

POST 3 (week 5): My favorite Movie and other things related


 My favourite film is Star Wars, it's a film about a young farmer (Mark Hamill) who joins a terrorist group to destroy the main base of a galactic empire. Plot twist: Boy turns out to be son of the foreman.
There you have magic cultists vs aliens, galactic senates, space ghosts, and sound in space. It has a lot of different stuff from cultural and pop references mixed together and still works.

 I have seen that movie a lot of times since I was a child, and everytime it works to me because most of things are explained or have the enough exposition along enough time. Everything there is nonsense, but funny nonsense and actually well explained. At last, it's all about suspension of disbelief. That's why i love science fiction movies.

In the other side, I discovered one of the most disturbing films not a long time ago. I can't say it is the worst that I've ever seen, but it is easily in my top 10. It's name is Dragonfyre (2013),  a very cheap film that can define the kind of films that are exposed on buses. in simple words its about a veteran american soldier vs orcs, yep...orcs.

For sure that mix could work...maybe. Like any mix. But it must have a previous establishment of  verosimilitude, and it really doesn't have it. It is just ''I'm an ex soldier trying to retire in a farm...whoops there's orcs and dragoons in my yard, I'm going to kill all those bastards with my rpg launcher taken out from nowhere''. So, how i said, it is all about suspension of disbelief, and this movie doesn't make it.

POST 2 (week 4) Best Holidays

Long time ago, when i was like 7. One of my many uncles received a benefit from his workplace.
One week in a cabin near Algarrobo. He invited all of us: My parents, grandparents, some cousins, my sister, etc. Everyone of my family says it was the best vacations we had.

It results that the cabin was part of a summer center  with pools, many activities and space to explore, and if we didn't liked pools, we had the sea next to us. Also if you felt lazy you could stay in the cabin that was fully operational with bathrooms and cable tv.
We had much fun with my cousin and sister who are like my age. Whe had the time, space, and new friends to play with all day.

We all agree it was the best holidays we had because everything was new, we had never gone to that part of the coast so we made a lot of turism. Also the activities of the center were pretty fun too. There was a ''searching the treasure''with all the vacationers, ''zumba'' session before it was like we know it nowadays, and a bingo where I won a bottle of wine.

After the free week my uncle had, we all had to came back to Concepcion, our home. I can still remember how everyone was deppressed returning to routine after that week

POST 1 (Week 3) A country i'd like to visit

Many people tends to dream about living in a perpetual a journey. They'd love to visit places most as posible and keep moving till they bodies can't keep working.
But I am not that kind of people, I' am very sedentary, and most of the time I prefeer to stay in home than travel outside the city. Seriously, there is just few places that im really interested to visit. One of them is Australia.

I don't know much about that country, but it has many things that makes it interesting.
First of all. It has a lot of exotic wildlife. Not just kangaroos and platypus. Almost any animal has its australian poisonous variation with weird shapes and colours.
Probably, living in a country where almost anything is poisonous at the point of kill you in seconds can't be a happy way to live, but Australian people discovered that it was nothing that coexist isolated from the rest of the world for thousand years couldn't fix.

That brings me to my second point:
Australia is the tenth happiest place to live. So i'd like to meet people or just experience myself how is to live in there, know how are their habits, traditions, paradigms.  Basically what makes them so happy and try to learn it.
